Mystification Lyrics. Through the winds of time A poet found The Key To The Elder Rhyme Some call the song mystic. With tales of gore And terror in the night His words, no more Have kept me mystified. An art revealed to no one Some say insanity A lesson from The Baron Master of mystery I'm mystified. Shadows of his thoughts Bring horror to the mind Legions of the lost Brought forth by his design. Morbid tales unfold That leave thee terrified Poetry of old To keep thee mystified.

Take the opener, ‘Up from the Crypt’, which is supposedly a Slayer inspired number; it’s thrashy, sure, but it’s not really like any thrash I’ve heard. Mystification is sort of the other side of the coin to which 1985's Open the Gates belongs; while Open the Gates was more or less power metal with some slight thrash metal influence, Mystification is more or less thrash metal with a small amount of power metal influence, the logical progression from 1986's The Deluge, which was equal parts power and. thrash. Of course, this is no ordinary thrash album; this is thrash Maniila Road style, and as such is nothing short of spectacular.

Other Albums by Manilla Road. The Blessed Curse, After The Muse.

Mystification marks Manilla Road's first foray into the realm of thrash metal. The band has played with faster tempos on previous album, but this is a record that delivers an intensity comparable to early SLAYER. Manilla Road mainman Mark Shelton proves himself to be one of heavy metal's most skilled songwriters with this flawless mix of classic and thrash metal.
