Futurama is the second album by the band Be-Bop Deluxe, released in 1975. After the line-up of Be-Bop Deluxe changed, the band recorded the album with founder member Bill Nelson (guitars, keyboards and vocals), Charlie Tumahai (bass and backing vocals) and Simon Fox (drums). The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales and produced by Roy Thomas Baker, who also produced Queen. Futurama was released in July 1975 by record label Harvest.
Robinson got to meet a hero when the band did a "Peel Session" in Nov. 1977. The band performs three songs from their upcoming album; "Up Against The Wall," "Long Hot Summer" and "Ain't Gonna Take I. The fourth, "Don't Take No For An Answer" is the lead track on their next release, the four track EP 'RISING FREE. Axe Victim is the debut album by art rock band Be-Bop Deluxe, released in June 1974. Axe Victim was recorded in AIR London, Audio International Studios and CBS Studios, all located in London, England. The material is different from later releases; it was released at the height of the glam rock era in Britain, with the band's music and image being influenced by the musical zeitgeist
For those unfamiliar with Be-Bop Deluxe, Modern Music or Sunburst Finish would probably be the best starting points. Excellant guitar oriented rock with intelligent lyrics and mood shifts ranging from hard-edged to very subtle and passive. Bill Nelson's mid-70's band, they produced a long string of albums that range from art-rock to mainstream pop, yet always very inventive, intelligent and generally progressive.

Things had changed for Be Bop Deluxe by the time of the group's fourth album. The band that turned up in glam rock regalia on its 1974 debut, Axe Victim, was in suit and tie on the cover of Modern Music in 1976. Inside, the band's transformation into a sophisticated pop group seemed complete. Arrangements were still ornate, but the songs were dominated by their highly imagistic lyrics, and as often as not, Nelson was borrowing ideas from the Beatles.
