Brand New Day is the sixth solo studio album by British singer-songwriter Sting, released by A&M Records on 27 September 1999. Fueled heavily by the success of the second single, "Desert Rose" (which prominently features popular Algerian Raï singer Cheb Mami), the album peaked at number nine on the Billboard 200 and sold over . million copies in the United States. Upon its release, Brand New Day was a critical and commercial success, and hailed as the triumphant return for Sting.

Brand New Day is the title song on the album of the same name, but is the last track on the album. According to Sting, he wanted the album to end on a positive note. Sting on Brand New Day
The problem with Sting's new album isn't so much the music itself, but the way in which it's delivered. No track on "Brand New Day" clocks in at under 4:46, and that is largely the result not of extra verses but of stretched out introductions, layer upon layer of production and sonic clutter, and Sting's usual need to make approximately 478 grand statements an hour, give or take a hundred.
