Digging Your Scene: The Best of The Blow Monkeys is a double greatest hits album, released on 4 February 2008 by British band The Blow Monkeys. Led by singer, guitarist, piano and keyboard player Dr. Robert, the group formed in the early 1980s and disbanded in 1990. After that, Dr. Robert went on to pursue a solo career. The Blow Monkeys recently reformed, with the aim of touring and releasing a brand new album.

The Blow Monkeys weren't modernists but they were deliciously flamboyant. Like The Council, they flirted with Socialism, 60s/70s soul, jazz, glossy pop, funk and eventually garage house. Of the five Blow Monkeys studio albums released between 1984 and 1990, only one remains in print. That fact makes this recently released 2 disc, 36 track compilation absolutley essential. 6 tracks from the 1984 debut titled Limping For A Generation. 8 from the 1986 album Animal Magic. 6 tracks from the underrated 1988 album Whoops! There Goes The Neighbourhood. 10 tracks from the final studio album Springtime For The World. Digging Your Scene: The Best Of The Blow Monkeys is the best 1980's Pop CD so far. All the original tracks are there, including my personal favourites, Digging Your Scene and It Doesn't have To Be This Way. This CD also includes a rare Blow Monkeys track featuring Kurtis Blow.
