Artist Pink Floyd Pink Floyd. Live At Pompeii (VHS, PAL).

Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii is a 1972 concert documentary film directed by Adrian Maben and featuring the English rock group Pink Floyd performing at the ancient Roman amphitheatre in Pompeii, Italy. Although the band perform a typical live set from the era, there is no audience beyond the basic film crew.

The album was Pink Floyd’s debut record and was released on August 5th 1967. The cover photo was shot by photographer Vic Singh. The photo was shot through the glass of a prism lens. The concept of the artwork was to mimic the visualized response of an LSD trip. In 1967, LSD was a popular drug used by the youth culture that intertwined within the concepts of psychedelic music and art. What was most interesting about the cover shoot besides the concepts of psychedelia was that the prism glass was given to the photographer by The Beatles George Harrison. The Pink Floyd box set Shine On defined the process and intent of the cover of Meddle. On the cover was a picture of an ear underneath the water.

Zabriskie Point is a soundtrack album to the Michelangelo Antonioni film of the same name. It was originally released in March 1970 and features songs recorded by contemporary rock acts of Antonioni's choosing, including Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead, and the Kaleidoscope. A 1997 re-release includes four bonus tracks each from Jerry Garcia and Pink Floyd that were used in the film, but not the original soundtrack

The discography of Pink Floyd, a British progressive rock band, consists of fifteen studio albums, three live albums, nine compilation albums, four box sets, five extended plays, and twenty-seven singles. Formed in 1965, Pink Floyd initially earned recognition for their psychedelic or space rock music, and, as they evolved, for their progressive rock music. They are known for philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows.
