Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791), baptised as Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart, was a prolific and influential composer of the classical era. Born in Salzburg, Mozart showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty.

The composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791) led a life that was dramatic in many respects, including his career as a child prodigy, his struggles to achieve personal independence and establish a career, his brushes with financial disaster, and his death in the course of attempting to complete his Requiem. Authors of fictional works have found his life a compelling source of raw material. Such works have included novels, plays, operas, and films.

Mozart lived for just 35 years, but in that time he wrote some of the greatest classical songs of all time. From his Requiem to the Marriage of Figaro, here are the ten greatest pieces of music by Mozart. According to Peter Shaffer’s play (later made into a film) ‘Amadeus’, Mozart literally wrote this piece on his deathbed, having been poisoned by Salieri. But what is true is that the piece was left unfinished when Mozart died in 1791. Mozart’s pupil Sussmayr completed the work, but the gorgeous Lacrimosa and Kyrie are Mozart at his exquisite best. Symphony No. 41 ‘Jupiter’.

This article is a look at Mozart's most popular songs, overtures, symphonies, and piano concerto movements. Find out which pieces of his music have stood the test of time and continue to be popular today. Without a doubt, this is Mozart's most famous symphony. The first movement in particular is extremely well-known and is one of the most famous movements he created. This is probably the second most recognizable piece of music Mozart wrote, especially with today's listeners.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (German:, English see f., baptismal name Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart (27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791), was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. He composed over 600 works, many acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber.

Mozart's music, like Haydn's, stands as an archetypal example of the Classical style. His works spanned the period during which that style transformed from one exemplified by the style galant to one that began to incorporate some of the contrapuntal complexities of the late Baroque, complexities against which the galant style had been a reaction. Mozart's own stylistic development closely paralleled the development of the classical style as a whole.
