After their first significant hiatus, the members of Saxon (including new drummer Nigel Glockler) returned to the studio to work on Power and the Glory, an album which sounds like it was recorded in a tin can, albeit a very large one. The title track shows some promise, but it's all downhill from there, culminating in the 6- minute plus, strangely prog-metal sounds of The Eagle Has Landed. There is also a noticeable lyrical shift towards "dungeons and dragons" themes, though the band had the sense of retaining at least one song about bikes in "Redline

Saxon’s fifth album, Power And The Glory was originally released on 21st March 1983 and was produced by Jeff Glixman at Axis Sound Studios in Atlanta. The album spawned two singles, ‘Nightmare’ and the title track, ‘Power And The Glory’ and also marked the replacement of drummer Pete Gill with Nigel Glockler, who remains a member of Saxon to this day. This version includes early working demos of songs from the album, recorded in 1982. Including tracks that didn’t make the final track listing

The Video Anthology follows on the DVD bringing all those 80's rock memories flooding back. the tight pants, the big hair - they feature in each of the video promos that accompanied the singles between 1983 and 1988. There are 7 UK chart hits here which helped Saxon attain 61 weeks in the UK charts during the 80's, including Power and The Glory, Northern Lady and Ride Like The Wind.
