Released in late 1966, "Don't Come Home A-Drinkin'" didn't reach the top spot until February 11, 1967, overtaking Jack Greene's No. 1 hit from late 1966, "There Goes My Everything". The song was the first of 16 No. 1 Country hits Lynn would have over the course of her career. The song set the standard for Lynn's biggest success to come in the early 1970s. One year later, following Lynn's success with the song, Lynn's brother, Jay Lee Webb recorded an answer song to "Don't Come Home A-Drinkin'" titled, "I Come Home A-Drinkin' (To a Worn Out Wife Like You)".

Yes I come home a drinkin' to a worn out wife like you Seems like you'll never want to do the things I like to do Each time I try to hold you you're asleep before I do So I come home a drinkin' to a worn out wife like you. I never take you anywhere cause you're too tired to go You say it's all that you can do to wash and cook and sow When you're too loathed to kiss me well the bottle will have to do Then I come home a drinkin' to a worn out wife like you. Yes I come home a drinkin' to a worn out wife like yo. .Ouça estações relacionadas a Jay Lee Webb no Vagalume.
Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’ Lyrics. Well you thought I'd be waiting up When you came home last night You'd been out with all the boys And you ended up half tight But liquor and love that just don't mix Leave a bottle or me behind. And don't come home a-drinkin' With lovin' on your mind No, don't come home a drinkin' With lovin' on your mind Just stay out there on the town And see what you can find Cause if you want that kind of love Well you don't need none of mine So don't come home a drinkin' With lovin'
John Randolph Webb (April 2, 1920 – December 23, 1982) was an American actor, television producer, director, and screenwriter, who is most famous for his role as Sgt. Joe Friday in the Dragnet franchise (which he created). He was the founder of his own production company, Mark VII Limited. Webb was born in Santa Monica, California, on April 2, 1920, son of Samuel Chester Webb and Margaret (née Smith) Webb. He grew up in the Bunker Hill section of Los Angeles.
I tasted freedom like I never have before, and I would like to think I was safe and smart about it. I figured out how to take care of myself in every way, shape, and form - I manage my own time, I feed myself, and I get myself from point A to point B. In just a few short months, I've learned so much about myself and the world outside of our little town. I have spent so much time getting used to a new lifestyle where I can make up my own rules and decide when I want to follow them, it may take me a while to remember how things used to be when I was here all the time. Please remember that I just busted my butt academically in the two hardest semesters of my life and I'm exhausted.
