Brian Wilson talks about 'Love & Mercy,' concert tour. Former Beach Boy talks about the film "Love and Mercy," new album "No Pier Pressure" and his July 5 Fox Theatre date. Watching "Love and Mercy," the film that depicts former Beach Boy Brian Wilson's famously difficult life, actor Paul Dano's emotionally raw portrayal of the young Wilson has prompted many of his fans to tears, at times. So how difficult it must have been for Wilson himself to watch scenes in which he becomes unglued from emotional distress, drug abuse and the unending pressure from his father and the record company for more songs, more hits. I listened to the radio and I heard Nate Ruess and Kasey Musgraves and Zooey Deschanel, and we had them come down and sing on my album. I wrote songs for them.

Brian Wilson – Love and Mercy (Live) (2:42) 13. Brian Wilson – One Kind of Love (3:34). It was a great privilege to be part of the team that brought ‘LOVE & MERCY’ to life. Beyond the beautiful and tragic events in Brian Wilson's life, the film is an uncompromising exploration into the creative process of undoubtedly one of the most inventive and sophisticated musical creators to have ever recorded. Bill Pohlad's unique vision celebrates that process with an insight and energy that inspired us all to reach for the best of our own creative abilities

To match the studio track use a chromatic tuner, and tune all strings up approx. 25 Alternatively, a live concert version is more likely to be in true pitch. CAPO: 2nd fret (Will then sound in the key of A) See above notes on fine tuning.
In real life, Wilson first dropped acid in the early spring of 1965, a year before "Pet Sounds". First, there's concert footage of the recent Brian Wilson, himself, singing "Love & Mercy", and then at the very end there is audio of a brief recreated studio recording of Good Vibrations, with '60s Brian leading the dialogue. The version which premiered at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival and a few subsequent public screenings contained a few extra scenes, such as an "I Get Around" studio sequence, and a scene where Wilson meets Phil Spector on the street
A new version of Last. Love & Mercy: The Life, Love and Genius of Brian Wilson. Overview (current section).
DANO: We did Love & Mercy this summer, and it’s some of the most fun I’ve ever had. He’s a really special man, Brian Wilson, and, not just the ‘60s and the music, but his spirit is really special and strong. And, I just fell in love with him and what he did. If you listen to Pet Sounds, there’s really nothing like it before or since, and it was just a joy filling up on that, and learning to play the piano. I got to work with these amazing musicians and, it was just a joy.
