Born July 20, 1967 in Chicago, Boo Williams has been a part of the city's house music entourage since 1981. This was when he first stepped up to the turntables and started DJing. Later on in the 1990's, Boo began production and then later remixing in '93.

Boo Boo is the fifth studio album by Toro y Moi, released on July 7, 2017 via Carpark. Girl Like You" was the first single from the album and was released on June 9, 2017. Toro y Moi cites Travis Scott, Daft Punk, Kashif, Gigi Masin, Frank Ocean, and Oneohtrix Point Never as inspiration for the album. Toro y Moi said the album was written to help "cope with an identity crisis caused by his growing popularity".

Track 7 "Cloud Burst" is originally produced and written by Glenn Underground and was made available to Boo Williams on the original "Midnight Express" 12" release. Glenn confirmed this in a comment for a YouTube movie (Movie ID: -zgZgS3__Vs).
