Ride a Rock Horse is the second solo album by The Who's lead singer, Roger Daltrey. It was first released in 1975. Songs were recorded during Daltrey's filming commitments for Ken Russell's film Lisztomania. The album's cover, which is photographed and designed by Daltrey's cousin Graham Hughes, is known as remarkable for depicting the singer as a rampant centaur. The song "Come and Get Your Love" reached number 68 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the album reached number 14 in the UK and number 28 in the US.

The second Roger Daltrey album is different from his first one. This is more influenced by disco and has jazzy parts whereas Daltrey, his first album, focuses on orchestrated soft rock. I guess I feel a stronger connection to the soft rock stuff because Roger tends to get personal which of course makes his music more relatable. Come and Get Your Love" opens in a light jazzy way before turning into a mid-tempo 70's tune. I dunno, perhaps the songwriting throughout the album just feels like it's a step down from his first album (called Daltrey) or maybe I just can't wrap my head around that darn sax! Wow is that album cover creepy though! Anytime a man's body is attached to an animal (in this case a horse) I get creeped out, haha.

By the time Roger Daltrey was ready to make his second solo album, Leo Sayer, upon whom he had relied to provide songs for his first, had launched his own successful singing career and was keeping his material for himself. Daltrey, therefore, called on his producer, Russ Ballard, who wrote three songs, including the chart single "Come And Get Your Love," and one Paul Korda, who wrote another three
