Heart of Nowhere is the fourth and final studio album by English folk rock band Noah and the Whale. The record was released on 6 May 2013 on Mercury Records. The album is paired with a half-hour short film of the same name. The album was partially inspired by the touring schedule of Last Night on Earth, and vocalist/guitarist Charlie Fink finding a close friend engaged upon returning home.

Noah and the Whale ’s debut album Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down was chock full of charmless whimsy and derivative Wes Anderson-straddling imagery (their name was inspired by the Noah Baumbach-directed, Anderson-produced The Squid and the Whale ) but it certainly arrived at the right time. In 2008, cutesy indie folk was the bomb- thanks, Juno - so the group’s use of the entire twee pop toolkit, banjo, ukulele, glockenspiel et al, gave them instant appeal. Five years and a couple of stylistic rebirths later, Noah and the Whale remain a big draw on the European festival circuit. Heart of Nowhere is primarily a collection of coming-of-age tales peppered with sensible advice for tormented youths. It's accompanied by an accompanying 30-minute film of the same name directed by frontman Charlie Fink.
The title track of Noah and the Whale's fourth album features a guest vocal from Anna Calvi. The band first met the English/Italian singer-songwriter at a Glastonbury festival and found they were mutual fans.
