Whipped Cream & Other Delights is a 1965 album by Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, called "Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass" for this album, released on A&M Records. It is the band's fourth full album and arguably their most popular release.
Herb Alpert (born March 31, 1935) is an American jazz musician most associated with the group variously known as Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass, or TJB. Alpert is also a recording industry executive, the "A" of A&M Records, a recording label he and business partner Jerry Moss founded and eventually sold to PolyGram. Alpert also has created abstract expressionist paintings and sculpture over two decades, which are publicly displayed on occasion.
With Whipped Cream & Other Delights (1965), they would take that momentum to new heights - including three Grammy Awards alone for the update of the Bobby Scott and Ric Marlow-penned theme to Shelagh Delaney's play of the same name, "A Taste of Honey. Early in the series run, additional Alpert offerings were also incorporated as incidental music: "Spanish Flea," as the bachelors were being announced, "Lollipops and Roses," when the lucky winners were being told where they would be spending their date, and both "Ladyfingers" and "Lemon Tree" were in rotation as contestants mulled over their answers.

It is also the band’s best known album, partly due to a memorable cover featuring model Delores Erickson, who poses covered in a swirl of white fabric and shaving cream to create the illusion of whipped cream. Each of the albums twelve cuts have a title that refers to food: Green Peppers, Whipped Cream, Ladyfingers, and so on.
According to Alpert, Whipped Cream also launched him as a lucrative touring act. (To that point the Tijuana Brass had been a loose group of studio musicians, mostly Wrecking Crew members, with Alpert overdubbing his own trumpet. Fifty years later, he’s still recording and still on the road, including an upcoming two-week stand at Manhattan's Cafe Carlyle, beginning May 31, with his wife, singer Lani Hall. The Whipped Cream model was a Seattle woman named Dolores Erickson, now 80 (as is Alpert) and a working artist. Back in the early '60s she ran in the same .

There is a dreamy-eyed wonder about Herb Alpert's debut album.
