Album of Unreleased Andy Kaufman Material Coming in July". Retrieved July 17, 2016. Zmuda, Bob; Hansen, Matthew Scott (1999), Andy Kaufman Revealed!: Best Friend Tells All, Back Bay Books. Margulies, Lynne; Zmuda, Bob (2014), Andy Kaufman, The Truth Finally, BenBella Books.

Bob Zmuda (born December 12, 1949) is an American writer, comedian, producer, and director best known for his friendship with cult personality Andy Kaufman. Bob Zmuda occasionally portrayed Kaufman's Tony Clifton character on stage and for television appearances. In a 2006 interview, Zmuda told the Opie and Anthony Show that he was masquerading as Tony Clifton with David Letterman, and that Letterman did not find out until years later.

Andy Kaufman’s posthumous reputation has grown in tandem with the rise of a cult that venerates him as a comedic god, and believes he is still alive. As a performance piece, The Truth, Finally is a welcome addition to the Kaufman canon. It’s part of a script that Zmuda has helped shape almost since the beginning. The book also helps document the more down-to-earth legacy of Kaufman as a n one intriguing passage, Zmuda claims that Dave Chappelle told him, over a joint, that Kaufman’s sensibility was an inspiration for his own departure from show business. Not only would Kaufman die so that he could be resurrected, he would have the audience participate in killing him, to grant it the joy of total forgiveness. The goal wasn’t to prank audience members, which would make them mere fools, but to free them from their anxieties and transform them into their best selves.

A live rendition of The Groom’s Still Waiting at the Altar features bombastic, blazing guitar solos from guest performer Carlos Santana as Dylan spits his way through the lyrics, making its surreal narrative even more impassioned. When He Returns, the closing track on Slow Train Coming, appears in stark, definitive form, on solo piano and organ at a 1980 show in Toronto. Dylan’s voice sounds beautiful, fanatical, and somewhat insane, which is exactly how this material should be delivered.

Bob Andy (born Keith Anderson) emerged as a solo star in 1966 with the smash hit "I've Got to Go Back Home", a song which has become a much-loved anthem for Jamaicans. He had served his singing and songwriting apprenticeship with the legendary vocal group THE PARAGONS, which he founded with Tyrone (Don) Evans and Howard Barrett, later joined by John Holt. He and Marcia reunited for the Kemar LP, which remains the definitive Bob & Marcia album and has been released as Really Together on Bob's own label. 1978 saw the release of Bob's album Lots of Love and I, which amongst many excellent tracks contains the classics "Ghetto Stays in the Mind" and "Feel the Feeling.

Bob Zmuda earned a permanent place in the comedy pantheon thanks to his groundbreaking decade as Andy Kaufman’s best friend, writer, collaborator, right-hand man, and alter-ego. Zmuda hasn’t just made promoting Kaufman’s legacy a full-time job; he’s made a second career out of having been Kaufman’s best friend. His business card really should read, Best friend of Andy Kaufman before writer, or producer, or philanthropist, since that’s how the public knows him and how he himself prefers to be known. The Truth, Finally just plain feels icky. Zmuda might cynically be presenting it as yet another loving tribute to his creative soulmate Andy Kaufman, but it reeks of exploitation.
