Here are 20 of the most notable censored album covers: The reasons for their bowdlerization include squeamishness about toilets, nudity, and general freakiness. The Mamas and the Papas, ‘If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears’ (1966). The original cover for the Mamas and the Papas' debut album: all four band members crammed into a bathtub (with Michelle Phillips stretched out over the other three). But because it was taken in an actual bathroom, the photo also included a toilet, which was taboo. West told artist George Condo that he wanted to have an album cover that would get banned. Condo provided a painting of a naked West being straddled by a naked woman, who had wings but no arms, plus a polka-dot tail. Mission accomplished: when some retailers wouldn't accept the cover art, West substituted an image of a ballerina instead.
Kenny Dorham Quintet is a jazz studio album by trumpeter Kenny Dorham
Enjoy a drink in one of London's best 'speakeasies' as recommended by Time Out, from basement bars with all the gimmicks, to classy bars that are hidden away. This, the urban myth has it, has long been one the best bars for cocktails in London. It might well be, but it’s hard to tell unless you have night vision like an owl – the lighting is turned down so low you’ll need to borrow a candle to read the drinks list, let alone see your drink, and you may not even recognise your drinking companions across the table.
