The Luxury Gap is the second studio album by the English synthpop band Heaven 17. It was originally released in April 1983, on the label Virgin. Recorded under the working title "Ashes and Diamonds", it is the band's best-selling album, peaking at number 4 on the UK Albums Chart – eventually becoming the 17th best-selling album of the year – and certified platinum (300,000 copies sold) by the BPI in 1984.
Exactly the same as The Luxury Gap except for the difference in pressing plant. Karol Kenyon appears courtesy of A & M Records Ltd. Another . Some copies came with a light blue outer sleeve spine instead of the usual purple spine.
The best-known track remains "Let Me Go," a club hit that features Gregory's moody, dramatic lead above a percolating vocal and synth arrangement. But even better is the mechanized Motown of "Temptation," a deservedly huge British smash that got a shot of genuine soul from R&B singer Carol Kenyon

Heaven 17 are one of those highly under-rated New Wave groups, often characterized as 'one-hit wonders. Investing in their albums, especially The Luxury Gap, will make you wonder how anyone could categorize Heaven 17 as anything other than wonder-full.
