Obscurity is bound to leave Dragonhammer in just that relative state, and given the nature of this album and the historicity of power metal as a genre, I don’t think the lack of a breakthrough here is going to be news to anyone – least of all the band. This album certainly isn’t poor by any stretch of the imagination, but taking a release that might have been pretty good twenty years ago and slapping a sticker that says HEAVIER, MORE MODERN, MORE VARIED (it is not those things) on the front is a surefire recipe for the bargain bin.
