I Dig the Duke! I Dig the Count! Decca, Verve Reissues.
I Dig The Count!" is a 1960 LP, recorded by Mel Tormé for Verve Records in tribute to Duke Ellington and Count Basie these fenomenal jazz pianists, composers and bandleaders. It's an amazing Tormé album that deserves new remastering as quick as possible. In my opinion this album aimed to show why Duke and Count attend the same court with equal powers. The reasons are their mutual differences. Duke sound is celestial while Count music is telluric. Duke becomes simple being sophisticated and Count becomes sophisticated being simple.
