Produced by Ariel Pink. Album Dedicated to Bobby Jameson. Dedicated to Bobby Jameson Lyrics. My oh mine Me myself and I Try not to die Be kind when you find Sunshine. High above the crystal rings Angels of Sunset Boulevard. He was a Tinseltown Tranny And the mayor of the Sunset Strip A Tinseltown Tranny And the mayor of the Hollywood Hills A Tinseltown Tranny. Safe and sound What's become of Jameson? Staring at dawn Take heed from the sun Seventy-one. Soar above the black air of signs And bid goodnight to all the world. So he left town A dejected bum An alien Bobby fell down A start to make another break Crazy.

Dedicated to Bobby Jameson is the eleventh studio album by American recording artist Ariel Pink, released on September 15, 2017, through Mexican Summer. It is the follow-up to 2014's pom pom and features a narrative Pink described in a press release as "a battery of tests and milestones, the first of which sees him reborn into life out of death.

Ariel Pink, who’s dedicated his new album to Bobby Jameson, has experienced his own dramatic evolution in the public eye. When we first met Ariel Rosenberg in the mid-2000s, he was an enigmatic outsider propped by Animal Collective’s in-house record label. The question circling his music was less Who is this? than What is this? Like Bobby Jameson-whose releases arrived under various guises to fool the public into thinking he was a new, emerging talent-Pink always distanced himself from his output

Ariel Pink is one of those artists who doesn’t change their style so much as drill deeper into it with every album. Retreating from the studio sound of his recent breakthroughs into the murk of his early recordings (see 2004’s classic The Doldrums), Dedicated to Bobby Jameson is a strange, phantasmagoric experience, by turns creepy ( Santa’s in the Closet ), pretty ( Feels Like Heaven ), and something unsettlingly in-between ( Do Yourself a Favor ). As always, Pink loves a weird joke, but the prevailing mood is one of loss-of hearing something fade away in haunting real time.

Dedicated to Bobby Jameson. He proves to be a potent muse for Pink on Dedicated to Bobby Jameson, an album that gives a little more shape to the themes of wish fulfillment, disappointment, and mortality that he's explored over the years. In a sense, the album sees Pink reclaiming some of his own outsider status: It appeared on Mexican Summer instead of 4AD, the home of some of his most popular albums, and it returns to the murky sound of his earlier work, which Pink uses as an expression of Jameson's past and his own. The title track's moody verses and bright, shiny choruses reflect .

My copy sounds good. Certainly a more enjoyable listening experience than the mp3s
Kirimath
Great album, terrible pressing (the blue version at least). As others have reported the first side has major pressing issues and noise. I reported it thinking I got a defective record, and the one I got to replace it was equally as bad.
Perdana
my copy had a weird label defect pressed into the vinyl.
Bort
Sadly got a bad pressing - very hissy first side which is a shame since this is one of my favorite releases of this year.
Hiclerlsi
The first side of my copy for the first three or so songs has a bit of a hiss to it, but the rest sounds great. The blue looks really cool, too.
Auridora
My copy has the very same issue, which is a damn shame because this is one of my favorite records and it's hard to enjoy with that periodic hiss.
Malara
Are all copies blue right now? or you have to pick this up from an indie retailer?

Ordered this direct from Mexican Summer. This and the deluxe vinyl package were available for preorder through their website. There is a standard black edition as well.
