Alive Again is the fourth full-length studio album by the Swedish progressive/AOR metal/rock band Nightingale. Subtitled "The Breathing Shadow, Part IV", it is the last album completely devoted to The Breathing Shadow story. This is the first release with Erik Oskarsson and Tom Björn in the band. Alive Again continues the hard rock/AOR direction of the band's previous two albums, with poppier vocals and progressive arrangements. Recollections" – 2:09. The Glory Days" – 4:16.

Nightingale is a long standing side-project of Dan Swanö (most famous for his work with Edge of Sanity). Formed back in 1995, this is Dan Swanö’s prog-rock creative outlet, and ALIVE AGAIN is the band’s fourth full-length. Dan Swanö is almost certainly one of the most prolific metal artists (and possibly of any genre) in the past decade. The lack of consistency is the main fault I have with Nightingale. Of the ten tracks on the album, half of them are of the heavy rock-metal variety, and the rest (including the intro) are of the wandering ntal styling. I’m sure that many fans of Dan Swanö and experimental music will cream their pants over the album, but I maintain that just because it is experimental does not necessarily mean that it is a good thing. Nightingale seem to get lost when they go off on their tangents, namely the 11-minute Eternal, and the quirky, floating, idyllic, The One.
