Kookanoo (The Adventures Of An Aboriginal Bo. ‎ (LP).

Patrick Durack (March 1834 – 20 January 1898) was a pastoral pioneer in Western Australia. His family were struggling tenant farmers from Magherareagh near Scarriff in County Clare, Ireland who moved from Ireland to New South Wales in 1853. Two months after arriving in New South Wales, his father, Michael was accidentally killed. He settled his mother and siblings, and moved to Victoria, he returned 18 months later with ₤1000.

Sarah Frances "Fanny" Durack (27 October 1889 – 20 March 1956), also known by her married name Fanny Gately, was an Australian competition swimmer. From 1910 until 1918 she was the world's greatest female swimmer of all distances from freestyle sprints to the mile marathon. Durack learned to swim in Sydney's Coogee Baths using breaststroke, the only style for which there was a championship for women at that time.

Mary Durack wrote under the name "Virgilia" for The Western Mail between 1934–38, in a column for women and children in rural areas called Virgilians' Friendly Corner. In 1950 she wrote the novel Keep Him My Country. Other important works include the saga of the Durack family, Kings in Grass Castles (1959) and its sequel, Sons in the Saddle; and a play,.

Mary Durack’s most popular book is Kings In Grass Castles. Kookanoo and the Kangaroo by. Mary Durack, Elizabeth Durack.

Mary Durack is recognised as one of Australia's most celebrated authors. Born into a pioneering heritage, she and her siblings spent their early years on cattle properties in the remote East Kimberley.
