The group began life as a continuation of their former incarnation Joy Division
It was released on 27 August 2001 in the United Kingdom by London Records and on 16 October 2001 in the United States by Reprise Records. It was the band's first studio album in eight years, following 1993's Republic, and was their last to feature their classic lineup. Peter Hook said of the album's title "The title of the album is Get Ready so it could mean anything or nothing.

The band formed after the demise of Joy Division, following the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis; they were joined by Gillian Gilbert on keyboards later that year.

The frightening reality is it may be one of the best albums of the year. It all relies on the playing and instrumental tension. Crystal" boasts a solid groove tailor-made for dance floors, and the Digweed/Muir remixes on the maxi-single release are instant classics. 2 people found this helpful.
