Bottoms Up ! Import, Hybrid SACD. Throughout this album I was delighted by the overall playing as well as the individual musicianship of Gene Harris on piano, Andrew Simpkins on bass and - since I am a drummer - Bill Dowdy on drums. Each came across as a virtuoso on their instrument, and collectively they played as though they were telepathically connected.

The 3 Sounds is an album by American pianist Gene Harris recorded in 1971 and released on the Blue Note label. Although it is titled after Harris' group The Three Sounds the album is usually recognised as a solo effort as none of the other original members of the group participated in the recording. All tracks written by Monk Higgins except as indicated.

The Three Sounds (also known as The 3 Sounds) were an American jazz piano trio that formed in 1956 and disbanded in 1973. The band formed in Benton Harbor, Michigan, United States, as the Four Sounds. The original line-up consisted of Gene Harris on piano, Andrew Simpkins on double bass and Bill Dowdy on drums, along with saxophonist Lonnie The Sound Walker, who dropped out the following year
