Bottoms Up ! Import, Hybrid SACD. Before proceeding, I want to disclose that I got this album in its entirety as part of a value pack titled 8 Classic Albums. The music on this album is not your typical piano trio, and especially not typical for circa 1958. This trio is propulsive and hard driving. Of course, so were the hard bop folks during the same period, but the difference here is The Three Sounds were playing straight ahead and mostly in standard time with a backbeat. That set them apart from the pack back then. My attention was grabbed from the very first track, Besame Mucho, which had me tapping my feet.

The album has been remastered (for the first time, apparently) and this package comes with two additional CDs, one with original single versions, B-sides and remixes and the other with 16 original demos.
