Guns N' Roses - Greatest Hits (2003).

Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the American rock band Guns N' Roses, released on March 23, 2004. It was released by Geffen in part because of the delay in the making of Chinese Democracy, and the subject of lawsuits by band member Axl Rose and ex band members in an attempt to block its release due to its track listing.

Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the American hard rock band Guns N' Roses, released on March 23, 2004. Axl Rose immediately tried to block the release by suing Geffen, saying it would ruin his focus on Chinese Democracy and if he were to get the album finished and released sooner, the Greatest Hits album would be selling more, leaving the album unnoticed. Former bandmates Slash and Duff McKagan helped.

Welcome to the jungle with Greatest Hits (Geffen), released March 23, 2004. With 14 selections housed in a digipak, Greatest Hits features all eight of the band's Top 40 Billboard Hot 100 tracks (five of them RIAA-certified "gold, " . sales of more than 500, 000 units). Along with spanning the group's five album releases, Greatest Hits also marks the debut on a Guns N' Roses album of the band's cover of the Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil" for the 1995 film Interview with the Vampire. Still, with all of that said I bought this album and have not been disappointed. How can you be when you are talking about Guns & Roses? If you are already a fan then there is not much that I can say that you do not already know. If you are checking them out for the first time I would say that they were one of the most talented and influential bands to come out of the late 80's.

Otherwise known as the album Axl tried to kill, Guns n' Roses' Greatest Hits is essentially a last-ditch effort by Geffen to get some GNR product, any GNR product out on the shelves. And, really, who can blame them? When they originally planned to release the disc in time for Christmas 2003, they had been waiting 12 years for a new album of original material from Guns n' Roses, and despite a flurry of activity in the fall of 2002 - Axl unveiling his Frankenband at the MTV Video Awards then took them out on a tour that imploded almost immediately. A week before its scheduled release, a federal judge denied the band's request for an injunction, and the record came out on March 23, 2004.
