Farewell My Summer Love is a compilation of archived Michael Jackson recordings from January to September 1973. The album was released by Motown Records in the . The nine songs featured on the album were reportedly lost by Motown but rediscovered in 1984. To give the album a more contemporary sound, Motown remixed the songs and added all new musical overdubs.
