A performance of four songs from their new album Lotta Sea Lice, that were alternately awesome, completely off key, out of time, and a little harsh on the ear without the studio production. But, altogether, just the coolest thing ever. Mistakes and all. The four songs Barnett and Vile performed at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert were ‘Over Everything‘, ‘Continental Breakfast‘, ‘Blue Cheese‘ and ‘Let It Go’. I didn’t do a whole lot of tuning today, laughed Courtney, apologies, after they ended their first song, ‘Over Everything‘, and then the pair worked on tuning their guitars a little bit before they launched into ‘Continental Breakfast‘. Yep, love, we can tell. But, somehow, it doesn’t matter.

This NPR Tiny Desk Concert features Avant Gardener and History Eraser from ‘A Sea of Split Peas’ and a brand new song Depreston. Watch Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile perform songs from their album ‘Lotta Sea Lice’ for NPR Music’s ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ series. The pair of guitarists recently stopped by Bob Boilen’s workspace to record a session for the NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert series. The four-song set was made up entirely of songs that appeared on the Lotta Sea Lice, a project that had been in the making since 2015. It opens with the album opener Over Everything, followed by the fellow single Continental Breakfast. Next comes Blue Cheese a song Barnett prompted Vile to resurrect which the latter had written when he was 12-years-old. Finally, the session closes with Let It Go.
