This is Jello Biafra's 1st full-time band since Dead Kennedys broke up in 1986, and it shows in the depth and breadth of Jello's musical chops and lyrical triumphs on these five originals and his reworking of the Deviants classic "Metamophosis Exploration.
Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine is a punk rock band led by Jello Biafra. They released their debut album, The Audacity of Hype in October 2009
That being said, his new album, "The Audacity Of Hype" is nothing short of amazing. Biafra's extremely unique musical vocabulary is firing on all cylinders here, and his backing band, the Guantanamo School Of Medicine (most notably featuring Billy Gould of Faith No More) blasts through nine songs with an intensity that is nonexistent on a lot of newer hardcore-punk records, making songs like "Clean As A Thistle" highly enjoyable, regardless of the outdated lyrical content

Career provocateur Jello Biafra has assembled a hell of a band behind him, including Faith No More bassist Billy Gould, guitarists Ralph Spight and Kimo Ball, and drummer Jon Weiss. Indeed, songs like "New Feudalism" and "Clean as a Thistle" have more raw power than Iggy & co. were able to muster on the legacy-poisoning The Weirdness. The big problem, of course, remains Biafra himself.
