Wrong is the fourth full-length album by Canadian punk rock band Nomeansno. It was released in 1989 through Alternative Tentacles record label. Wrong was described by drummer John Wright as the band's "most popular album by a country mile".

Nomeansno (sometimes stylized as NoMeansNo or spelled No Means No) was a Canadian punk rock band formed in Victoria, British Columbia and later relocated to Vancouver. They issued 11 albums, including a collaborative album with Jello Biafra, as well as numerous EPs and singles. Critic Martin Popoff described their music as "the mightiest merger between the hateful aggression of punk and the discipline of heavy metal.

End Of The World Issued in the fall of 1989, Wrong drew together all the elements of NoMeansNo that had been developing over the previous 10 years

Nomeansno is a band that was started by the bass/drums duo of the brothers Wright. Joining these brothers is Andy Kerr on guitar. Of the two albums of theirs that I have heard, it is the one I prefer. 13. I Am Wrong – This feels like the last tune, which is cool. A lot of times, the last song on an album doesn’t wrap things up real well, but this one does. It makes everything feel complete. It starts out real sludgy with a doom and gloom guitar part.

Though "Life In Hell" and "I Am Wrong" are bonus tracks on the cassette and CD versions of the album these two track are REQUIRED for a full appreciation of this album. Without them its hard to get why this album is praised as much as it is.

Why in god's name are copies of this album so expensive? There are 26(!) versions, many for sale, it doesn't appear to be "rare" in any reasonable sense of the word, and yet the cheapest cd of it is over $30. Amazon dealers have it listed for over $100. It's a great album - I reviewed it for my university radio station when it came out, but am I missing something here?

Possibly the best post-hardcore album. Period. I had been listening to NMN since the days of Sex Mad and this was the icing on the cake of their 1980s career. The album is great but live they were better. Never seen a bnd so tight and in tune with one another (though Fugazi and Snuff were close at the time) and that made for a mesmorising show. Not a duff track on this album and the CD includes the EP released when they toured Europe in 1990. Great stuff.

How is there no review of this LP yet? Classic (but a little underrated) math-punk (?!) from this Canadian band from 1989 that still sounds original today. Plus, the recording is amazing. They sort of remind me of the Minutemen, what with their quirky, sometimes-funky style, but these songs are way more layered like Talking Heads. The songs are punchy, melodic, complex and they can really play their fucking instruments.

I got this album on a whim about three years ago when I found it in the used CD's bin at Goodwill believe it or not. This was a great find, because nomeansno are one of the most original punk acts out there. They're style is unlike any other punk band I've heard before, and is very refreshing considering how much of it sounds the same. This is a must-buy must-own for any die hard punk fan. Get this!

Everyone has had an album or song that changed their attitudes towards music. For me, Wrong is this moment. Prior to it, I was relatively limited to my tastes in, well, everything and failed to see the common elements between different genres. Years later, NomeansNo is still one of the strongest and least recognized punk rock bands, particularly during their late 80s and early 90s heyday, this being the climax of all their output. What makes Wrong so unique is their emphasis on bass and complex forms that would become heavily influential on later, heavier hardcore bands. Whether breakneck in speed ("Tired of Waiting"), poppy ("Oh No! Bruno!"), experimental ("I am Wrong"), epic ("The End of All Things") or strangely medeival ("The Tower"), they are able to pull off different ideas and have them work well together. This isn't the sort of album that will convert people who already aren't into punk rock but it certainly deserves the status of a classic.
