Danzig is the debut album of the American heavy metal band Danzig, released in August, 1988. The album was the first release on producer Rick Rubin's new label Def American Recordings. Def American's successor, American Recordings reissued the album in the United States and United Kingdom in 1998. It remains the band's best-selling album having been certified Gold in the . in 1994, and has since been certified Platinum. Danzig promoted the album with a successful world tour in 1988–1989.

Its definatley a recommended listen. It is an experimental release that will keep classic Danzig fans both entertained and satisfied. I am a guitarist aswell as a diehard Danzig fan, i have all his solo albums except 6:66 satans child (which is impossible for me to find at this point, but ill have it soon), and ever since i picked up Danzig 3 ive been hooked

Danzig 4, also titled Danzig 4P, is the fourth studio album by Danzig. It was released in 1994 on American Recordings following 1993's highly successful Thrall: Demonsweatlive EP and singer Glenn Danzig's 1992 instrumental solo effort, Black Aria. Danzig 4 is notable as the band's final album on American Recordings, and as the last to feature the original lineup of John Christ (guitar), Eerie Von (bass), and Chuck Biscuits (drums)

Danzig's experiments with using texture and atmosphere to evoke their trademark mood of darkness and evil come to the forefront on their fourth full-length album, with John Christ contributing more effects and fuller chord voicings. Not all of the experiments are successful or interesting, partially due to inconsistent songwriting, but out of all their releases, the music here comes the closest to reflecting the darkness of Glenn Danzig's lyrics
