Danzig is the debut album of the American heavy metal band Danzig, released in August, 1988. The album was the first release on producer Rick Rubin's new label Def American Recordings. Def American's successor, American Recordings reissued the album in the United States and United Kingdom in 1998. It remains the band's best-selling album having been certified Gold in the . in 1994, and has since been certified Platinum. Danzig promoted the album with a successful world tour in 1988–1989.

This and the first video titled Danzig are the only reason I still have a VCR! I've had this one since it's original release (had to replace the Danzig one a few years back. Great videos of Glenn's early songs. I could watch these over and over. It runs approximately 25 minutes, as compared to the 40 minute running time of the first Danzig home video (which features the uncensored version of the original "Mother" video as banned by MTV!).
Danzig has unveiled the dark and NSFW clip that features a coven of hooded females venturing their way through the darkened woods and eventually doffing those hooded robes as they take part in a ritualistic ceremony. Watch it play out in the video above. is just one of the standout cuts to have received the Danzig treatment on his most recent disc Skeletons. The album was released late last fall, giving fans a look at some of his musical influences like Sabbath, Elvis Presley, Aerosmith, ZZ Top and more
