A Merry Little Christmas was recorded during the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's 2017 Christmas shows in the LDS Conference Center, featuring vocalist Sutton Foster and actor Hugh Bonneville. An album and concert DVD was released on October 12, 2018. The recorded concert will premier on PBS on December 17, 2018 and BYUtv on December 20, 2018.
Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concerts have been a tradition that dates back decades. Beginning in 2000, the annual concerts moved to the Conference Center on Temple Square in Salt Lake City where the Choir, the Orchestra at Temple Square and Bells on Temple Square have hosted a diverse roster of world-class talent. The Wicked cast album earned a 2005 Grammy Award. Other notable roles include appearances in The West Wing, Disney's Descendants and The Muppets. Since 2004, the Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir PBS Christmas broadcasts-recorded over three nights and broadcast one year later-have become a beloved PBS tradition.
