Fripp and Eno had collaborated on an album released in 1975 called Evening Star. On this album and in particular on the recording An Index of Metals there are strains that would influence the Bowie project two years later – most notably Side Two of the Bowie album. Fripp agreed to play guitar for Bowie's Heroes album, a move that initiated a series of collaborations with other musicians. Fripp soon collaborated with Daryl Hall on Sacred Songs. The '57 guitar featured three humbucker pick-ups (with one volume control on the pickguard controlling the middle pick-up). A signature model named for the guitarist (Crimson Guitars Robert Fripp Signature) features Fernandes Sustainer and MIDI elements, with a Les Paul Model Body. Another difference from the Gibson Les Paul is that Fripp's guitar is built using a deep set neck tenon rather than a traditional set neck.

Music for Films, Vol. 3, is a set of mismatched pieces by Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno (aka Eno). The disc contains 15 short pieces (only one is over five minutes). In that regard, there is a distinct similarity to his new wave pop music from the '70s. This CD is, however, all instrumental, largely electronic, and distinctly Eno. Despite their dissimilar origins, these tracks have definite cohesion.

Fripp and Eno first recorded with this system in September 1972. More recently, Robert Fripp's experiments have evolved into Soundscapes and Radiophonics. A promo CD called Various Artists: Trademark of Quality, Volume 1, (PRO-CD-5798) contains rare tracks from many Warner Bros. There is a track by Eno called Tutti Forgetti on this, but it seems that the actual track on the disc is in fact be The Harness. Other artists featured include AMC, REM, Daniel Lanois, J. W. Harding and Medicine. Eno's music for Neverwhere was not released on an album in its entirety, which is a pity. The music for the opening of an important door was particularly evocative.

The Essential Fripp & Eno is a music boxset/compilation recording by FRIPP & ENO (Progressive ve Rock) released in 1994 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Collectors/fans only (28%). Only for completionists (11%). The CD opens with the No Pussyfooting album in its entirety - splendid stuff to be sure, but if you're a fan you probably own the album already.

Fripp & Eno Remastered. As you can see from his latest updated diary, Robert is busy remastering a couple of Fripp and Eno classics, No Pussyfooting and Evening Star. In the diary Robert says Now, onto backwards versions, as originally featured on John Peel. Dervish is the title of a new album featuring Tuner’s Markus Reuter and UK electronica wizard, Ian Boddy. The album also features contributions from Pat Mastelotto. More KC-inspired Art. 07 June 2006.

The Essential Fripp & Eno" is a compilation of material from the 1970s collaborations between Robert Fripp and Brian Eno. It combines two tracks from each of their released albums- "(No Pussyfooting)" and "Evening Star" with four unreleased tracks from a later session. Curiously enough, "(No Pussyfooting)" consisted of only two tracks, as such the entire album is replicated here. The four tracks from later are the real draw for fans- they're quite different from anything earlier- punky guitar riffs and loping fretless bass mix with sampled vocals and simple (programmed?) beats. Nonetheless, there's quite a bit of value in this set, and the collaborations between Fripp and Eno are all critically important works in the development of ambient music.
