When I heard this this morning, I thought gee, there's Taylor in another fight,' Lisa began to tell her co-hosts. The Project host Lisa Wilkinson (right) threw her support behind Taylor Swift (left) after Scooter Braun bought the rights to the pop singer's master recordings. Guest panellist Magda Szubanski concurred with Lisa, adding: 'By extension, the fact that these contracts have always been that way doesn’t mean that they're right.
A writer and singer of contemporary Western folk music, Andy is a poet with a guitar. Through his songs, he tells stories of the American West of yesterday and today, mixing the music with history and sociology. Andy’s stories, many of which are based on the life and times of his distant uncle, Charlie Goodnight, are taken from the factual world, using emotions and beliefs, and philosophies, myths and legends. With a varied background-college and graduate school, a dozen years as a policeman and an equal stretch as a businessman-he now draws his wages as a full-time writer and performer.
Jane Herbert Wilkinson Long was called the "Mother of Texas," even during her lifetime, because of the birth of her child on Bolivar Peninsula on December 21, 1821. She was not, however, as she claimed, the first English-speaking woman to bear a child in Texas. Censuses between 1807 and 1826 reveal a number of children born in Texas to Anglo-American mothers prior to 1821. Jane was born on July 23, 1798, in Charles County, Maryland, the tenth child of Capt. Pregnant again, Jane stubbornly waited for her husband even when the guard and the other families left Bolivar. She was all alone except for Kian and Ann when she gave birth to her third daughter, Mary James, on December 21, 1821. Lonely and near starvation, Jane welcomed incoming immigrants heading for the San Jacinto River early in 1822. She abandoned her vigil and joined the Smith family at their camp on Cedar Bayou.

Texas is famous around the world for oil, cattle and state pride, but there’s a lot more we bet you didn’t know about the Lone Star state. Spanish missionaries were the first European settlers in Texas, founding San Antonio in 1718.
