bezogen auf One Thousand Years Of Trouble, CD, Album, CDV 2473. I've asked them already and can only hope. First Age Of Chance song I heard was 'Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Noise' and for a while I assumed this was their one lasting song, like most 80's acts, but after getting their first EP, Crush Collision, I knew differently
Age of Chance was no more than 18 months ahead of its time - two years, tops - but that short gap was enough to doom the band commercially. One of the first rock bands to incorporate a DJ and rapper into its sound, Age of Chance managed one minor hit off this album, the still-impressive rave-up "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Noise. The rest of the album is similar (though admittedly, less immediately striking): pounding rhythms and loud, squalling guitars mixed with fractious samples and loops, topped with hoarse, shouted vocals that recall the group's Leeds forebears the Mekons and the Gang of Four.
Age of Chance arrived like a well-aimed grenade amid the lily-livered cuties of the C86 scene. Best known for their gleeful cover of Prince's "Kiss", the Leeds agitators delivered a crush-collision of beatbox rhythms, metallic guitars and Situationist sloganeering. Our journalists will try to respond by joining the threads when they can to create a true meeting of independent minds.
Age of Chance dresses up harsh British beatbox-metal-pop with colorful, vaguely apocalyptic sloganeering. Despite all the shouting, the Leeds quartet's biggest problem is the lack of a cohesive identity to match their records' careening sonic stew. The six-track Crush Collision is generally shrill and undistinguished, but it does include a pretty decent cover of Prince's "Kiss" (as well as a really awful one of the Trammps' "Disco Inferno")

A Thousand Years Lyrics. Heart beats fast Colors and promises How to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall But watching you stand alone? All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow One step closer. I have died everyday waiting for you Darling don't be afraid I have loved you For a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more. And all along I believed I would find you Time has brought your heart to me I have loved you for a thousand years I'll love you for a thousand more One step closer One step closer.
