Mike Johnson (October 11, 1945, Chicago, Illinois - February 9, 2013, Nashville, Tennessee). During a troubled adolescence, Mike Johnson dropped out of school and ended up playing guitar for the legendary Paul Butterfield Blues Band. After receiving help from the Teen Challenge ministry, Mike surrendered his life to Christ. He formed a band called The Exkursions and started playing some of the world’s very first heavy Christian rock music. Johnson went on to record several influential albums of Jesus Music as a solo artist in the 1970s, the most well known being 1976’s The Artist/The Riddle

Mike Johnson (born August 27, 1965) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer and bass guitarist. He was born in Grants Pass, Oregon and fronted Eugene, Oregon punk band Snakepit from 1984 until their break up in 1989. He joined Dinosaur Jr. as bass player in 1991 and played with the band live and on its recordings from 1991 to 1998. He was briefly married to Juned's Leslie Hardy in 1994, and contributed to both the band's studio albums.
