Klaatu (/ˈklɑːtuː/) was a Canadian rock group formed in 1973 by the duo of John Woloschuk and Dee Long. After recording two non-charting singles, drummer Terry Draper was added to the line-up; this trio would constitute Klaatu throughout the rest of the band's recording career.

Hope, released in September 1977, is the second album by the Canadian rock group Klaatu. It won a Juno Award for "Best Engineered Album" and a Canadian Music Critics award for "Best Album" in 1977. An alternate version of Hope was released in 2005 as part of the group's Sun Set collection of rarities. The alternate version on Sun Set includes the complete contributions of the London Symphony Orchestra, which had largely been removed from the version released in 1977.

Klaatu frequently alternated between Beatlesque pop, the showy guitar rock and vocal theatrics of early Queen, and the electronic orchestral techniques pioneered by Walter Carlos, or worked all three into the structure of a four- or five-minute song.

This submission includes a "Klaatu Clues" insert from radio station WAMS, Wilmington, DE that promotes the conspiracy that Klaatu were actually the Beatles. Matrix, Runout (Label, side A): ST 1-11542. Great album, the best in the Klaatu catalogue in my opinion. Reply Notify me Helpful.

Endangered Species (Klaatu album). The stylistic difference between this album and the rest of Klaatu's work was immediately apparent.

It uses the same kind of Beatlesque psychedelic rock as Hope. The Juno-nominated album cover was painted by a friend of Klaatu's members, the Canadian graphic artist, Ted Jones. Rumours spread in the wake of the album's release that Klaatu were, in fact, a secretly reunited Beatles A high-quality newly remastered version of the album was released on Klaatu's indie record label "Klaat.

Klaatu - what a 70s guilty pleasure! (Why not the Beatles in 'disguise'? Wasn't the Wings McCartney in disguise?) . When I first heard this album I really didn't know what to think, it has to be one of the most off-kilter and wildly unpredictable releases of the 70s. Track-to-track it sounds like a totally different band! It's almost as if different musicians and singers were hired for each song. With as annonymous and concert-phobic as they were it's something to chew on for a minute. Time to talk about the music, it is for the most part pretty decent, it rarely scales tremendous heights but the entire album is definately palettable.
