1. Pink Floyd concerts were always a multimedia event. As early as 1966, the group's live performances incorporated film, projected onto a backdrop and onto the band

Pink Floyd were an English rock band formed in London. Distinguished by their use of philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, extended compositions, and elaborate live shows, they are one of the most commercially successful and influential groups in the history of popular music. While Pink Floyd were working on the album, Barrett made an impromptu visit to the studio, during which Thorgerson recalled that he "sat round and talked for a bit, but he wasn't really there. He had changed significantly in appearance, so much so that the band did not initially recognise him. Waters was reportedly deeply upset by the experience. Most of Wish You Were Here premiered on 5 July 1975, at an open-air music festival at Knebworth.

Pink Floyd was an English rock band who earned recognition for its psychedelic music in the late 1960s, and as it evolved in the 1970s, for progressive rock music. Pink Floyd's work is marked by the use of philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative album cover art, and elaborate live shows. Lime and limpid green, a second sceneA fight between the blue you once knew. Floating down, the sound resoundsAround the icy waters underground. Astronomy Domine, written by Syd Barrett.

Barrett had one great Pink Floyd album in him, and this was it in all of its whacked-out glory. Album engineer Pete Bown expertly sums up the entire experience after listening to Interstellar Overdrive : I opened the door and nearly shit mysel. y Christ it was loud. I had certainly never heard anything quite like it before. Without a doubt, the most passed over Floyd album and sounds better than ever today. Stand out track Free Four employs an irresistible backbeat, countered by the direly droll sense of humor of Waters: you shuffle in gloom in the sickroom, and talk to yourself ’till you die. Party! Best track: Free Four.

Pink Floyd – The Wall is a 1982 British surrealist musical drama film directed by Alan Parker with animated segments by political cartoonist Gerald Scarfe, and is based on the 1979 Pink Floyd album of the same name.

The apparent final Pink Floyd album, built around a series of unreleased material from late keyboardist Rick Wright, is another unnecessary release, but at least it’s a pleasant one. Gilmour doesn’t try to replicate Roger Waters’s lyrics or vocals, because there are no vocals (except the ending Louder Than Words ), so all that’s left is a lot of pleasing atmospheric pieces.

Pink Floyd's eleventh studio album The Wall was released in December of 1979 and is a classic and regarded as the band's most ambitious masterwork. This double album ranks up there with other noted classic rock double studio albums like The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Tommy, Exile on Main Street, Quadrophenia, Blonde on Blonde, London Calling, The White Album, Physical Graffiti, Electric Ladyland and many others. The album's three best tracks "Young Lust", "Comfortably Numb" and "Run Like Hell" were co-written by Gilmour. The Wall was a concept album which told the story of a character named Pink (a composite of Roger Waters and Floyd co-founder Syd Barrett).

I didn't care for it much when I first heard it, preferring DSotM and Animals, but now I absolutely love the album. Still love Animals and DSotM as much, if not more now, but Meddle has risen above the other albums faster than any other album I've grown to love. Arguably the most personal album Roger wrote for the Floyd, certainly the most lyrically emotive and contains some of the best songs from their entire catalogue. If you're looking for an album concerned with honesty of expression and breaking new ground rather than over-produced musical trappings, this is one of the Floyd's very best.
