These Foolish Things is the debut solo studio album by Bryan Ferry, who at the time was still Roxy Music's lead vocalist. The album was released in October 1973 on Island Records in the UK, and Atlantic Records in the United States. It was a commercial and critical success, peaking at number 5 on the albums chart in the United Kingdom. The album is considered to be a departure from Roxy Music's sound, because it consists entirely of cover versions, mainly of standard songs.

Much like his contemporary David Bowie, Ferry consolidated his glam-era success with a covers album, his first full solo effort even while Roxy Music was still going full steam. Whereas Bowie on Pin-Ups focused on British beat and psych treasures, Ferry for the most part looked to America, touching on everything from Motown to the early jazz standard that gave the collection its name

The list of things to do once in a lifetime can actually go on forever, as every person out there has his or her own bucket list and his or her personal wishes and secret desires. Why 300, you may ask? Why not 1000, we can ask you back, as life is full of opportunities to do whatever you wish, to follow your dreams and challenge your inner self. Carpe Diem is no longer just a fancy Latin expression, but for some people it became a wake-up call and a new life’s motto. And since nobody is preaching to engage in a self-endangering life or actions or sacrifice your values in the name of you only live once, this doesn’t mean you should forget who you are and what you want and treat yourself a little, either it is self-development, culture, extreme sports, travel or out of the ordinary fun actions.

These Foolish Things. Album It Had to Be Yo. he Great American Songbook. These Foolish Things Lyrics. The scent of smoldering leaves The vail of steamers Two lovers on their street Who walk like dreamers Or how the ghost of you clings These foolish things remind me of you. How strange, how sweet, to find you still These things are dear to me, they seem to bring you so near to me The sigh of midnight trains in empty stations Silk stockings thrown aside, dance invitations Or how the ghost of you clings These foolish things remind me of you Remind me of you Remind me of you. More on Genius. These Foolish Things" Track Info. It Had to Be Yo. he Great American Songbook Rod Stewart.

find you still These things are dear to me They seem to bring you near to me The sigh of midnight trains in empty stations Silk stockings thrown aside dance invitations Oh, how the ghost of you clings! These foolish things remind me of you. Gardenia perfume ling'ring on a pillow Wild strawb'ries only seven francs a kilo And still my heart has wings These foolish things remind me of you The smile of Garbo and the scent of roses The waiters whistling as the last bar closes The song that Crosby sings These foolish things remind me of you How strange how sweet to find.

And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. Though not many noble are usually called by Divine grace, there have been some such in every age, who have not been ashamed of the gospel of Christ; and persons of every rank stand in need of pardoning grace. Often, a humble Christian, though poor as to this world, has more true knowledge of the gospel, than those who have made the letter of Scripture the study of their lives, but who have studied it rather as the witness of men, than as the word of God.
