The Fool on the Hill" is a song by the Beatles. It was included on the Magical Mystery Tour EP and album, and presented in the Magical Mystery Tour film, with a promotional sequence filmed near Nice, in France on 30 and 31 October 1967. The song achieved perhaps its most widespread popular audience as a top ten hit single by Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66 in 1968.
Fool on the Hill is the fourth studio album by Sérgio Mendes and Brasil '66 released in 1968. The dismissed members went on to form a short-lived group, The Carnival, which released one self-titled album in 1969. This is also the first appearance of Gracinha Leporace in a Sérgio Mendes album.
Day after day, alone on a hill The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still But nobody wants to know him, they can see that he's just a fool And he never gives an answer. But the fool on the hill sees the sun going down And the eyes in his head see the world spinning around. Well on the way, head in a cloud The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud But nobody ever hears him or the sound he appears to make And he never seems to notice.
Help! Helter Skelter. Here Comes the Sun. Here, There And Everywhere. And he never seems to notice, Он же этого, кажется, не замечает. But the fool on the hill, А чудак на холме. Sees the sun going down, Видит с солнцем разлуку. And the eyes in his head, Перед внутренним взором. See the world spinning 'round. Он им не нравится, The fool on the hill. Sees the sun going down, Смотрит на закат солнца, And the eyes in his head, И его глаза.
The remix of The Fool On The Hill featured cellos from I Am The Walrus, drums from Octopus's Garden, horns and vocals from Mother Nature's Son, and a tambura drone. On 6 September 1967, Paul McCartney recorded a solo demo of the song in a single take. He played the piano and sang, with no other Beatles appearing on the tape. This demo later appeared on the Anthology 2 album. A reduction mix, numbered take four, was made to facilitate further overdubs, and a mono mmix was made towards the end of the session. Some sources indicate that George & John play acoustic guitars, but here Joe states that George & Paul do. I would like to know exactly.

It was included on the Magical Mystery Tour EP and album, and presented in the Magical Mystery Tour film, with a promotional sequence filmed near Nice, in France from 30–31 October 1967. McCartney played the song for John Lennon during a writing session for "With a Little Help from My Friends", and Lennon told him to write it down. McCartney did not; he was sure he would not forget it. In his 1980 interview with Playboy magazine, Lennon said, "Now that's Paul.

Nobody seems to like him, They can tell what he wants to do, And he never shows his feelings, But the fool on the hill Sees the sun going down, And the eyes in his head See the world spinning 'round. He never listens to them, He knows that they're the fools, They don't like him. But the fool on the hill Sees the sun going down, And the eyes in his head See the world spinning 'round.
