Day after day, alone on a hill The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still But nobody wants to know him, they can see that he's just a fool And he never gives an answer. But the fool on the hill sees the sun going down And the eyes in his head see the world spinning around. Well on the way, head in a cloud The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud But nobody ever hears him or the sound he appears to make And he never seems to notice.
Eddie Fisher was just one the many highly successful Pop singers to burst onto the scene after WW II, only to see their careers eventually crunched under the wheels of a runaway bus known as Rock 'n Roll - the genre that "wouldn't last" according to some highly-placed records executives uch as Mitch Miller! But, until then, he was as consistent a mainstay for RCA Victor on the singles charts from 1950 to 1957 as the best of them, boasting no less than 58 charting sides. And all of the primary ones are in this 2-CD 45-track set along with 8 full pages of liner notes written.
The fool (as regarded by everyone else at the time) on the hill was Galileo doing his work. He was told that the sun was moving, but deep down he knew it was Earth that was moving. Also, in the MMT booklet that accompanied the album, under the song title for "Fool on the hill" there is a cartoon of Paul standing on a hill singing. So clearly its YOU Buzz, who are the idiot. Buzz from Towntown, Mi "That is definitely George Harrison.
