Background Music Sunday Afternoon. City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. 100 Greatest Film Themes. Silva Screen's specialty is symphonic recordings of movie themes and music highlights sold as an alternative to the actual, full movie soundtrack/score recordings, and what's here is pulled from those recordings. Even in some of the highlights from the 1950s and early '60s, the full symphonic, stereo sound of these excerpts is so different from the original, monaural soundtracks and the scrappy studio orchestras that the music seems almost too "Evening at the Pops" or 101 Strings-ish.

Movie Themes Go Disco! (.has been added to your Cart. My main purpose in purchasing this disc was for the full length, album side suite of themes from "Battlestar Galactica" by Giorgio Moroder, which also has never seen the (legal) light of day on compact disc. This disc is worth getting for all the rare remastered tracks alone. If you're a fan of that classic,, overly orchestrated disco sound then this is a 'must have' disc and a real treat. Meco followed this huge hit with many other Disco versions of blockbuster themes. And naturally other artist would walk in his golden footsteps. This is the first compilation of the music trend that combined the dramatic tension of great film themes and the slick glamour of the orchestral Disco sound.
