Chris Gantry casts an eye back on a hardscrabble utopia in his reverent new ballad Life Well Lived, the first track to be debuted from his newly announced LP Nashlantis. Nashlantis marks Gantry’s first collection of new material since 2015’s Gantry Rides Again, and first of any kind since the archival release At the House of Cash from 2017. In a similarly lost vein, Nasthlantis evokes a bygone era and city, though the album sees the 76-year-old - featured last year in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s landmark Outlaws & Armadillos exhibit - return to Nashville for the recordings, which were engineered by Rob Galbraith and produced by Jerry David DeCicca.

The House of Cash was a house and museum in Hendersonville, Tennessee devoted to the life and work of Johnny Cash. It was located at 700 Johnny Cash Parkway, and is closed. Cash did not live there, however, he and his wife lived nearby at 200 Caudill Drive in Hendersonville. It was Cash's home from 1968 until his death in 2003. The museum fell into disrepair toward the end of Cash's life, when it was featured extensively in the music video for Cash's version of the song "Hurt" in 2002.

Chris Gantry, the legendary Nashville songwriter who penned "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife," one of Glen Campbell's biggest hits, paid homage to his friend and collaborator on Tuesday (Aug. 8), hours after the singer-guitarist died at age 81 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. The song was the first single from Campbell's classic 1968 album Wichita Lineman, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. Gantry remembers Campbell as someone with "the amazing ability to strafe you with golden vibrations. Read his full tribute - as well as one by fellow country songwriter Josh Osborne - below. Glen Campbell was exuberant, full of life and music. He used every bit of his God given gift, infusing it with great emotion and excitement, unleashing it on people in waves of brilliancy and sky rockets. Glen was a very complex man, at least that's what I felt when I was around him.

Johnny Cash: Forever Words is a new album based on the poetry of Johnny Cash, previously collected in a book of the same name. As previously reported, it features musical adaptations of Cash’s poems by Chris Cornell, Kacey Musgraves, Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson, the Jayhawks, Rosanne Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Jamey Johnson, and more. Today, the full tracklist and release date have been revealed: The 16-song set is due out April 6 via Legacy Recordings. Watch a trailer for the project below
