Jon Mueller / Jim Schoenecker - The Interview album flac

Mueller and Schoenecker (aka "pressboard"), collaborators in the band Collections Of Colonies Of Bees and with the saxophonist Bhob Rainey, came together to perform at the AC Live series in Chicago, and shortly afterwards they recorded a limited (200 copies) release CD-R in 2003. The performance of that thirty-minute live free apartment concert was recreated for this studio session.

Collections of Colonies of Bees is an American musical ensemble from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Collections of Colonies of Bees was founded by Chris Rosenau and Jon Mueller in 1998, then both members of the band Pele. Their debut album appeared on the UK-based label Rosewood Union, while their next several releases appeared on Crouton Records. By the time of their 2004 release Customer, they had added two new members, Jon Minor and Jim Schoenecker, and signed with Polyvinyl Records.

For his 2010 album for Type, Jon Mueller created a short but powerfully striking collection of pieces unsurprisingly focused on rhythm, given his past work. Remembered As" begins the release with a steady arrangement of hammered dulcimer increasingly disrupted by a low rumbling subharmonic bass growl, while "Remembered" concludes the album with dulcimer, distant beats, cymbals, and more acting almost as a mournful elegy for someone or something, quick in feel but sorrowful nonetheless
