Live at Montreux (Sun Ra album). Live at Montreux is an album by Sun Ra recorded in the summer of 1976 at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland under the billing Sun Ra and his Intergalactic Cosmo Arkestra.

The excellent Live at Montreux set from 1976 was released on vinyl by both Saturn and Inner City before disappearing from print for many years. In 2003, the set was reissued by both Universe/Akarma and P-Vine.

Fantastic 140 gram double-vinyl reissue of this amazing live album. Recorded on the summer 1976 tour of the European jazz festivals under the billing Sun Ra and his Intergalactic Cosmo Arkestra.

The legendary bandleader Sun Ra(1914-1993) & His Arkestra recorded this double album live at Montreux in July, 1976. It's one of the finest concert recordings I've heard by Sun Ra with excellent sound quality. Highlights include 'The House of Eternal Being' & 'Gods of the Thunder Realm' plus a fascinating version of Billy Strayhorn's 'Take The 'A' Train' with a wildly exciting tenor solo from John Gilmore preceded by an equally astonishing Sun Ra piano solo

The album was recorded during the 1976 Montreux Jazz Festival, and has a bit more focus and polish than some of the other Arkestra live material from the time – a mature, coherent sound that almost points the way towards some of their work to come in the 80s – when Ra and the group were finally reaching the wider audience they deserved  . The excellent Live at Montreux set from 1976 was released on vinyl by both Saturn and Inner City before disappearing from print for many years.

Live at Montreux is an album by Sun Ra recorded on the summer 1976 tour of the European jazz festivals under the billing Sun Ra and his Intergalactic Cosmo Arkestra. It was first issued on CD by Universe Records in Italy, with poor sound quality and the track "On Sound Infinity Spheres" faded out early by about six minutes
