Grade 8 is the self-titled debut album by American nu metal/rap metal music group Grade 8. It was released on February 11, 2003 via Lava Records. The album failed to gain commercial success and resulted in Grade 8 being dropped from Lava. Grade 8 features a pummeling rap metal style with thunderous, staccato riffing in B tuning and harshly delivered rapping. Songs contain chugging double bass as well as moody, atmospheric sections.

Listen to music from Grade 8 like One Wish, Headcase & more. Dustin and Ryan Tooker planted the seeds of what would become grade 8 in the mid 90s, in their home state of New Jersey. Ryan was a last minute choice to fill in on vocals for guitarist Dustins then band. Their natural chemistry worked well and they continued playing over the next few years with various rhythm sections.

Released date 11 February 2003. Produced by Toby Wright. Members owning this album5. 1. Brick by Brick . 4.

Snarling vocals, chain-saw unison guitar and bass, thundering drums - all the essential elements erupt from each track of grade 8's brutal debut. Relief from this assault is rare and momentary: for example, the guitar that opens "Get It Out" is not sadistically overdriven, though Dustin Tooker drops his low E string down to a D to make his arpeggios as ominous as possible. In any event, within seconds listeners are cranked back up to the max, with Ryan Tooker racing past his rapped opening for another throat-ripping exhibition.
