Having been mixing records for 25 years, Francois K is one of dance music's longest serving decksmiths. His musical taste is notoriously broad (hence the title Choice), ranging from Latin, through disco, funk, hip-hop, house, nu jazz, soul and to whatever other sounds he finds emotive and irresistible. This collection is intended as an introduction to some of the tunes that have influenced Francois over the years, so that there's an inevitable mixed bag to choose from
The focus now turns to another pioneer in the DJ front, with John Digweed presenting his Choice: A Collection of Classics. It’s quite a highly anticipated collection this, considering Digweed is behind some absolutely classic mixed already such as Renaissance and Northern Exposure. The mix starts off beautifully to be perfectly honest with ‘Hoomba Hoomba’ by Voices of Africa and continues on with the delicate melodies and beats of ‘Floatation’ by The Grid.

Promo handed out as two single CDr discs, each in a generic plastic sleeve with a colour printed front and back cover. "For Promotional Use Only. Preview Copy Not Mastered."Promo version of the official release. The track duration of most tracks on this promo is almost identical to the ones on the official release, give or take a few seconds. Some tracks, however, are considerably shorter, sometimes by ten seconds, and others are simply faded out after about three minutes. The track duration of this submission was taken directly from the CDr-discs with a regular player.
The tracks are not mastered, but have also not been de-clicked and in some cases pops, clicks and even the hiss of a run-in groove are clearly audible.
The back covers contain many mistypings of the titles:
