The annual Classic FM Hall of Fame is the largest poll of the world's favourite classical music. Every January we ask you to get in touch to tell us which are your three top pieces of music. Then, come Easter, we count down from Number 300 and reveal the new Classic FM Hall of Fame. Mozart, Rachmaninov and Vaughan Williams have been among the composers who've topped the poll in recent years. But Bruch also took the Number 1 spot for several years. And, although Beethoven always has a strong presence in the top 300, he's never taken that coveted top spot.

Video game music has steadily been rising to prominence over the last decade, but this year, it’s made a tremendous mark in the realm of orchestral and classical music, as shown by various game music composers successfully entering the Classic FM Hall of Fame. Nobuo Uematsu for the Final Fantasy series entered at a striking out of 300 entries, beating out legendary composers like Tchaikovsky, Mozart, and Bach.
This seems to be a very fitting birthday tribute to the great man. Happy birthday Uematsu-San! Game Concerts. A lot of time and effort goes into making a video game album. Things don't start and end with recording an orchestra. If you get a chance, tune into tonight's live stream direct from the mixing desk of the forthcoming album The Tomb Raider Suite.
