A sampler is a type of compilation album generally offered at a reduced price to showcase a selection of artists signed to a particular record label.
Dejadisc was founded by Steve Wilkison in 1992. In 1995, the label released Richard Buckner's debut album, Bloomed. Buckner subsequently left the label to release his next album, Devotion + Doubt, on MCA Records.
Although we’ve omitted most synth/sampler hybrid instruments from our list, Falcon deserves a mention due to the sheer amount of sample-mangling features it offers. In fact, we can’t classify the instrument as either a sampler or a synth: it sits firmly in the middle of the two categories, as you can either use synth waveforms or load in audio files.
