Art Official Age is the thirty-seventh studio album by American recording artist Prince. It was released on September 26, 2014 by NPG Records under a renewed license to Warner Bros. Records, marking the second collaboration of both parties since 1995's The Gold Experience. Prince released the album Plectrumelectrum, recorded with his touring band 3rdeyegirl, simultaneously.
Despite all these winking allusions to his past, Art Official Age feels of piece not with the Revolution but rather the New Power Generation: underneath the squalls of guitar, psychedelic soul harmonies, and impish humor, this is a full-fledged R&B album, one that often echoes Diamonds and Pearls.
Art Official Age - Fairly Good, Based on 16 Critics. With that said, Art Official Age is Prince's most consistent effort since his "return to commercial relevancy" circa 2004-2006 period with albums Musicology and 3121.

Prince has already released the video for album track Breakfast Can Wait and he played Funknroll during his appearance on Arsenio earlier this year, though the version on Art Official Age is funkier and nastier, according to a Minneapolis Star Tribune writer who got an early listen. The reporter also claimed that This Could Be Us was a ballad inspired by Prince’s Purple Rain costar Apollonia Kotero and that The Gold Standard had lyrics wild and rude.
In 2014, Prince released two LPs simultaneously: the 3RDEYEGIRL collaboration PLECTRUMELECTRUM and this solo outing. Ostensibly a concept album about a man who wakes up 45 years in the future, ART OFFICIAL AGE is a sprawling, spacey R&B fantasia.
Art Official Age is the 37th full-length studio album by Prince. It was released 4 years after the previous album 20TEN, and on the same day Plectrumelectrum, his 36th full-length studio album (in collaboration with 3rdEyeGirl) was released. A 2 LPs vinyl version was released late November 2014
